Boyden "Bud" George is a Division Manager
with HAR-BRO, Inc. He has worked in the construction industry since
1964.
In 1974 Boyden was transferred to Southern California
to open a regional office for Capitol Construction Company where he
was responsible for the total construction activities in several Western
states. Prior to joining HAR-BRO in 1988, he was an estimator for the
Wilson Company, specializing in estimating and construction of interiors
for department stores and medical centers throughout Southern California.
Boyden has extensive experience in estimating and reconstruction
of natural disaster losses and construction defect. After Hurricane
Louis in 1995, he estimated the loss for King's Casino and shopping
center in Antigua. He evaluated damage and cost of repairs for schools,
residences, commercial properties and government buildings in American
Samoa following Hurricane Val in 1991. He also began ongoing work estimating
damage caused by Hurricane Iniki in 1992 to industrial and commercial
properties, hotels, single family residences, condominiums and historical
buildings on the Hawaiian island of Kauai .
When the Denver International Airport sustained flood
damage, he evaluated the scope and the estimated cost while assisting
with settling of claims submitted under builder's risk insurance. His
experience also includes estimating damage and reconstruction caused
by the Los Angeles riots, floods, devastating fires, earthquakes and
construction defects.
In addition to his experience in estimating losses
resulting from natural disasters, Boyden has worked continuously with
the estimating, construction, contract negotiation, scheduling and total
project responsibility for more than 30 years. He is a member of the
American Society of Professional Estimators.
