Venetian Hotel Water Loss – Har-Bro Provided Emergency Dry Down

Las Vegas, NV  –   The Venetian suffered water damage during a remodel at their hotel. During a store remodel above the casino floor, Venetian’s hired general contractor company broke a fire sprinkler head.  Although the sprinkler only ran for approximately three to four minutes, it flooded through the retail floor into an 8 feet high plenum over the casino floor. The plenum could not contain the water which caused it to leak through areas of mural painted ceiling and detailed coffered ceiling panels.

Har-Bro responded to the emergency water damage and presented insurance credentials and statement of qualifications and capabilities to the Venetian management who approved us to handle the emergency dry down. The dry down took approximately four days with 30 pieces of equipment operating in the plenum. Enough water was extracted with minimal openings in the ceiling to allow the casino floor to reopen approximately 12 hours after the initial loss.

For the following 3 days, the dry down consisted of monitoring moisture levels within the mural painted dry wall ceilings and reducing very high moisture levels in the plenum to a dry condition. Murals and coffered ceilings were saved with minimal repair touch up which was handled by the Venetian.
